Conor Lynch 5K Color Run
Buckle Up for Bobby joins other non-profit advocates at the Conor Lynch 5K Color Run in Sherman Oaks, CA on October 25, 2015. Conor Lynch (16) lost his life in 2010 as he was struck by a moving vehicle while running in Cross Country practice for high school. The driver was distracted.
The Conor Lynch foundation, established by Conor’s mom, Jeri, fights to end distracted driving.
Attendees were asked to dress in Super Hero attire. The opening ceremony was attended by local and state officials and ended with a balloon launch in honor of Conor and others lost in traffic related incidents.
Singer, Debby Boone sang her famous “You Light Up My Life” as the balloons drifted out of sight. A memorial garden was created with dozen of photos of loved ones lost. It was a touching tribute for all to see. Over 2000 registered runners were sprayed with vibrant colors as they made their way through the 5K course. Buckle Up for Bobby and Keep Kids Alive Drive 25 (Tom and Wendy Everson) and many other road safety advocates handed out information to participants asking them to join us in putting an end to senseless losses and injuries.
